EverBright Energy Comes to Central, Downstate Illinois

July  25  2011

Warrenville, IL – July 25, 2011 – Residents and small businesses in Central and downstate Illinois have a more cost-effective option for beating the heat this summer. EverBright Energy, an Illinois-based exclusive agent of Integrys Energy Services, is offering Ameren customers an alternative source for electricity, which can save consumers more than 8 percent on their current rates.

“Today is a good day for residents and small businesses of Central and downstate Illinois,” said John Nania, president and CEO of EverBright Energy. “Until now, there have been few options for consumers in this area to save money on their power. EverBright Energy’s approach is to offer education and transparency into the switching process, helping consumers create an informed decision about their electricity options. We look forward to bringing this important information to our neighbor’s downstate.”

How it Works

Deregulation of the electricity industry and the subsequent passing of laws paved the way for utility companies to carry the names of alternative electricity suppliers on their monthly bills. This created an opportunity for companies like EverBright to enter the marketplace. EverBright works exclusively with electricity supplier Integrys Energy Services. Integrys accesses competitive pricing, which is then passed on to the consumer. The electricity is passed through Ameren for delivery into individual homes or businesses using existing meters and wires. For customers, this means no new setup is required, no disruptions to existing service and, because the electricity is delivered by the consumers’ current utility company (Ameren), the bill comes from the same place. The only change is that Integrys will be listed as the supplier and the usage rates will reflect new pricing.

Switching Through EverBright

Aside from rate discounts, the benefits of switching through EverBright, with Integrys Energy Services as your supplier, are the service and support consumers receive before, during and after switching. To enroll, consumers will need a copy of their current Ameren bill.  After enrolling, the customer doesn’t have to take any further action to make the switch. Twelve-month terms are available.
